Let's make it

After i finish with the design so i need to get it out of the computer and make it appear the world. Now FABLAB is our main character in this act.

Laser cutter

First, I needed to chose the material for each part. For the chassis and motor box I used 3mm. red acrylic. This laser cutter allow only "PDF" file order to print. But from rhinoceros program it can export from 3dm. to pdf at once. so first i need to export it as dxf.file then open it in QCAD program then convert to svg.file. After that open the sag.file in Inkscape program. In this step you need to check the size of what you want to cut and make sure the line is 0.02mm. more or less the laser cutter won't read to cut. Then export it as PDF.

Then i can take the PDF file to the computer that connect to the laser cutter to order it to cut out. On the computer you need to set the material that you use so the laser cutter will know how much power to use. Before you order it. You need to set the laser cutter first. Put your material in-set the laser origin point-set the laser level between the material and laser. Then it ready.

Chart

Finish design in Rhinoceros (3dm.file)

Export from Rhinoceros to (dxf. file)

open(dxf. file) in QCAD

Save from QCAD to (svg, file)

open (svg. file) in Inkscape

Save from Inkscape to PDF

Bring PDF file to Laser computer

order

Cut

3d printer

For the pillars and wheel,we used 3d printer in levi house. And we also need to convert file from(3dm.file) to (obj.file) but it's easier because we can directly export to obj. Those wheel and pillars are quit strong but we already broke many pillars already when we try to put it in the hole in the chassis.

PROBLEM

I need to convert file from 3dm. to pdf and I can't convert directly from rhinoceros program and there're so many step so I think this is the hardest part in design part.
